Craving a quick escape from the city? Need a little nature detox, minus the full-on roughing it? Joshua Tree National Park offers the perfect mix of adventure, aesthetic, and chill, and yes, you can soak it all in within just 24 hours.
Whether you’re road-tripping with friends, planning a solo reset, or just want a cute getaway that won’t crush your budget, this overnight guide has you covered. Keep scrolling for The Ultimate Joshua Tree Itinerary that’s equal parts dreamy and doable.
But First, Coffee
Something vital to making this The Ultimate Joshua Tree Itinerary, caffeine! Leave early from LA to make it to Joshua Tree by noon. First stop: Más O Menos Coffee & Bar, the cutest spot for a great coffee, breakfast sandwich, and a must-snap moment in their adorable photo booth and outdoor decor!

Joshua Tree National Park
Joshua Tree may seem chill and beginner-friendly (and for the most part, it is), but those stunning boulders are just as sturdy as they are sneaky. Channel your inner rock climber (carefully), or you may leave with more than just a great photo. I’ve done this trip a few times now, but full disclosure: ligaments and tendons have been sacrificed in this park.
So take it from me: enjoy the views, take lots of pictures, and carefully explore the trails, your ankles will thank you later!

Airbnb / Hotel Check-In
Around this time, you’ll likely be checking into your Airbnb or hotel, perfect for a quick nap, freshen-up, or just a little downtime before dinner. I usually opt for Airbnbs, so this last trip I stayed at The Ramsey 29, a super cute boutique motel just outside one of the park entrances.

If you want to stay towards the other JTNP entrance, closer to town, this adorable pink and green airbnb was also a dream!
Wander and Dinner
The Ramsey 29 isn’t just a cute motel… walk out back and you’ll find Kitchen in the Desert, one of the tastiest (and most aesthetic) spots around. While you wait for a table, explore the charming courtyard shops for books, clothes, and artisanal items. The drinks, food, and handmade key lime pie? Unmatched!

After dinner, grab some blankets and head into the park to stargaze. The night sky in JTNP is pure magic and the perfect way to end your day.
Breakfast in Town
It wouldn’t be a Joshua Tree Itinerary if you skip out on the town in Joshua Tree! Before heading home, stop by Crossroads Café for breakfast. It’s a local fave, so expect a wait. While you wait, explore the town’s art, small museums, and charming local shops.

Joshua Tree is all about slowing down and recharging. So chill out and tag us @fortheaesthetic.la on your JTNP adventures this year!
