Mamma Mia! (1&2)
I don’t think any summer movie hits quite like Mamma Mia. It’s the “living your best life with your besties” vibe. Between the dreamy Greek islands, the iconic ABBA soundtrack, and Meryl Streep belting Dancing Queen while running through the hills? Chaotic magic! The cast being buzzed while shooting this honestly just makes it even better. It’s messy, fabulous, and ridiculously fun—a summer essential.
Parent Trap
The ultimate summer movie? The Parent Trap, hands down. It gave us summer camp chaos, London charm, Napa vineyards, and made us fall in love with Miss Lindsay Lohan herself. It’s got it all: iconic quotes, scheming twins, our very own ‘Cruella’ and a love story that still hits. You’ll wish Elizabeth James could design your wedding dress and Nick Parker was pouring your wine. A certified classic, and forever a fave!
The Summer I Turned Pretty
No way we’re leaving this one off the list. The Summer I Turned Pretty fully owns our hearts (and our group chats). Whether you’re team Conrad, Jeremiah, Steven—or just team “Belly, what are you doing?!”—we’re all locked in. The drama, the romance, the beach vibes… and don’t even get us started on that insanely good soundtrack. Jenny Han really knows what she was doing. Season 3? We’re waiting for you!
Theater Camp
More people seriously need to watch Theater Camp. If you’ve ever been to a summer camp run by clueless teens and barely-legal counselors (or were one), this is peak relatable chaos. If you were a theater kid? Prepare for the most hilarious, chaotic, and weirdly emotional PTSD of your life. It’s unhinged, heartfelt, and SO fun.
White Lotus
Last but not least, the series that stole the show this year… The White Lotus. We’re hooked traveling the globe with these wild characters, eavesdropping on their juicy drama and pointless chatter. Mike White perfectly peels back the luxe life we love to hate. Grab a piña colada (make sure it’s the good coconut milk) and binge your way through Hawaii, Italy, and Thailand all over again.
