It’s never too early to start planning your fall lineup in LA. We know LA might not give classic fall weather, but it definitely brings the seasonal vibes. Whether you’re planning a cute fall date with your partner or a night out with your besties, there’s no shortage of festive things to do. Think pumpkin patches, apple picking, spooky events, and all the Instagrammable moments, no traditional fall wardrobe required (but we support the aesthetic either way). Keep reading to see 13 Things to Do This Fall in SoCal!
1. Apple Picking
Think you need to travel across the country for a dreamy fall moment? Think again! Just a short drive from LA, Oak Glen is the hidden gem for living out all your autumn dreams in SoCal. Apple picking in cozy orchards, sipping fresh-pressed cider, strolling through local markets, and indulging in warm, homemade apple pie. It’s basically your Pinterest fall board come to life—perfect for a day date, friend adventure, or just living your seasonal dream.

2. Disneyland
If you’re able to head to Disneyland this season, there’s nothing quite like the Disney Halloween magic. From limited-edition spooky treats to character costumes and stunning decor across both parks, it’s all about the details. It’s the perfect excuse to grab a photo with your boo (or your besties) and soak in the fall vibes, Disney style. Just don’t forget to check park hours—some nights close early for the Halloween Party Bash!

3. Dodger Game
There’s something about fall baseball at Dodger Stadium that just hits different. The energy, the cool breeze, the city lights—pure LA magic. And if the Dodgers are in the postseason (which, let’s be honest, they usually are), it’s the perfect time to throw on a light jacket, grab a drink, and take in the game under the glow of that iconic stadium. A cozy night out, LA-style.

4. Film Festival
Rumor has it Whittier is hosting its very first Film Festival, and we’re already planning on heading over. Uptown Whittier has that small-town charm that feels straight out of a fall movie. This September, they’re shutting down parts of Uptown for local vendors, festivities, and screenings at the iconic Whittier Village Cinemas. Catch us there for all the fall movie magic!

5. Halloween Horror Nights
Can you really call yourself a Halloween fan if you’re not hitting up Halloween Horror Nights at Universal? The screams start early, giving you plenty of time to brave the new mazes everyone’s talking about. It’s one of our favorite fall traditions—and honestly, there’s nothing like running for your life in the name of spooky season fun with the people you love.

6. Heritage Square Museum
Heritage Square Museum already gives off those perfectly eerie, vintage vibes—but in the fall, they totally lean into it. Think spooky markets, ghost stories, and cozy movie nights under the stars, all surrounded by gorgeous historic homes from another era.
Heritage Square Museum is also featured in our Best Museums in LA list, don’t miss it!

7. Knott’s Scary Farm
If Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights feels a little too intense, Knott’s Scary Farm might be more your vibe. It still brings the thrills—with haunted mazes and scare zones—but with a more laid-back twist (and way more rollercoasters!). Plus, you can’t go wrong with a warm boysenberry funnel cake in hand.

8. Oktoberfest
Beer lovers and good-time seekers—Oktoberfest season is almost here! Whether you’re heading to Pomona, Long Beach, Big Bear Lake, or somewhere in between, there are plenty of spots to raise a stein and get into the spirit. Rally your crew, throw on your best festive fit, and get ready for pretzels, polka, and plenty of pints.

9. Pumpkin Patch
Nothing says Halloween like a pumpkin patch, and LA County has no shortage of them. One of our faves is the Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Fest. With live music, cute photo ops, local vendors, and fresh-baked treats, it’s the perfect place to soak in those fall vibes. It’s also super spacious, so you won’t feel swamped by crowds (and little ones)—making it an ideal spot for a chill date.
10. Queen Mary Dark Harbor
If haunted history is your thing, you have to check out the Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor. This Long Beach haunt is next-level spooky, with chilling mazes both outside and deep inside the ship itself—yes, including famously haunted spots like the boiler room and the old pool. It’s the kind of eerie, adrenaline-pumping night that’ll have you looking over your shoulder (in the best way).

11. Spadena House
If you’re into all things spooky and storybook, you’ve got to swing by the Spadena House in Beverly Hills this fall. It looks like it stepped right out of Hocus Pocus. The owners go all out for Halloween, so it’s the perfect spot to snap a festive photo and soak up some fairytale magic in the middle of LA.

12. Visit a Local Coffee Shop
Okay yes, it might sound a little basic, but cozy coffee shops are an essential part the fall experience… and aesthetic. Some local spots go all in for spooky season. Think pumpkin spice everything, ghostly latte art, themed drinks, and moody autumn decor that makes your coffee run feel like a whole vibe. Whether you’re meeting a friend or just need a solo moment with your chai latte, these spots deliver on the fall feels.

13. Wine Tasting
We’ve had our moment with beer and cider, now it’s time to pour the wine. Fall is the perfect season to head to Temecula—aka SoCal’s very own wine country. The weather is dreamy, the vines are glowing, and the wineries are in full harvest mode. Many spots host special fall events and harvest parties, making it an ideal time for sipping and celebrating.
Stay tuned—we’ve got a full winery guide coming your way soon!
